Large house close to the beach, but a lack of maintenance and cleanliness. Our stay at Lavender Lodge had positives and negatives. Positives: It's a large house with spacious rooms. The kitchen is well equipped with sufficient cutlery and crockery, pots, washer and dryer. The host accommodated an early check-in. The house is a 5 to 10-minute walk from a nice secluded beach. The surrounding area is beautiful. Negatives: The house was dusty and full of spiders and spider webs upon arrival (the host assured us the house was ready despite allowing an early check-in). The bed sheets and cupboards were dusty with some dead insects and droppings inside. There were leaks from both toilets which caused a bad smell in the bathrooms. The shrubs and trees on the property were overgrown, obstructing any views of the surroundings, including from the braai area and lapa. The lapa was in disrepair and not available for use, despite being included in the advertised pictures.
