"We visited the area over the Christmas period and found the people of the area friendly and peaceful. The area were not overly crowded and felt safe. We visited a few beaches in the area and enjoyed them all. Some were swim beaches, others more rocky."

"As 'n vakansiedorp in die somervakansie, sou 'n mens dink hulle roomyswinkels óf minstens KFC sal draai roomyse beskikbaar hê vanaf vroeg, dit is egter nie die geval nie. Red Desert Natuur Reservaat is beslis 'n belewenis, maar sal dit nie aanbeveel vir energieke of baie jong kinders nie."

"I saw very little of Port Edward as I stayed only a few days, spending most of my time at the Wild Coast Sun with the SA junior chess championships. The beach at the WCS was beautiful and the huge bridge across the adjacent river was quite impressive! The area at the Superspar and petrol garage seemed rather chaotic with the taxi rank close by but I didn't experience any problems. Overall a great experience and I would like to revisit Port Edward."
