From service to setting everything was perfect. I booked this place as a special getaway. I normally don't have loads of free time and it had to be a surprise, so I asked if they could do a simple gift basket and what I paid and what they delivered was completely unexpected. They didn't just assemble a standard gift basket, no. The basket was completely custom, hand-picked items with thought and care, and because I said it was a special getaway for Valentine's Day, a small but beautiful bouquet of roses was added. The crowning display of service, dedication and attention to detail was the trail of rose petals from the outside path all the way into the cottage and all over the interior. I was quoted and paid just for the stay and the gift basket, but they over-delivered and had even more service available for our use at no extra cost. If you just want to break away from the rush of everyday life and enjoy a clean, beautiful, safe retreat, this place is definitely for you. I would like to thank the owner for his dedication and for giving us a weekend we will never forget.

Baie netjiese blyplek en vriendelike gasheer. Baie netjies en vriendelike hulp, pad na blyplek by ingang is net bietjie onverwags, maar andersins baie lekker gebly! Sal weer gaan volgende keer.

Wonderful but not quiet. Loved the place but didn't have power for 3 of the 4 days staying there. Although no fault of the owners, there was no solar or backup, not even one light or way to charge my phone. There is no signal or WiFi, which for me was a problem as I came there to do writing work. The settlement had music going the whole night, so it wasn't peaceful as expected. Did a few nice hikes on the property and the house itself was very comfortable. Was woken up a few times very early with the weed eater going too. A bit weird that there is a camera on the patio; feels a bit invasive. All in all, not a bad stay and thank you.

Hi Angelique, thank you for loving the place. Yes, we had an unfortunate situation whereby a substation had blown and the whole region was without power. Even during the load shedding period, we never had load shedding, as we are connected to the main supply line for the mines. This was a very rare occurrence. Therefore, we do not facilitate back-up power. The loss of signal was due to the power outage, as we do have signal boosters installed. We addressed the work hours of the weed eater early in the morning. The cameras are purely for safety purposes and not to intrude on privacy. Unfortunately, the settlement at the siding, 3 km away, does get rowdy on certain occasions. Regards, Ernst
