Description
Jakkalskloof Camping offers camping sites and is situated on a farm in the little Karoo between Ladismith and Riversdale, less than 1.5 km from Vanwyksdorp. The farm is ideal for guests looking for a camping break away from city life.
Accommodation at Jakkalskloof Camping consists of 9 spacious campsites, which share an ablution block with unisex showers and toilets. Each site has a portable braai facility to use. Guests are welcome to make use of the communal swimming pool on the farm.
Guests can go hiking in the local hills and up the river bed itself; the river is seasonal and may or may not be running, drought dependent.
The nearby town of Vanwyksdorp has a wonderful Spekboom restaurant and a coffee shop. Arts and crafts can be viewed and purchased at either of these locations, and there is a local soap factory and olive farm for guests to visit in the area as well.
