AfriCamps at Bonamanzi Game Reserve is set within a 4,000-hectare private game reserve, offering guests a unique glamping safari in KwaZulu-Natal. It is perfectly located between Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park and iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Bonamanzi Game Reserve is renowned for its on-site game drives, insightful guided bush walks, and a one-of-a-kind birding river cruise. Guests can encounter four of the Big 5, including elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, along with over 400 bird species on the reserve.
Recognised as a Natural Heritage Site since 1995, the reserve features diverse landscapes, from Sand Forests and Savanna to Wetlands, making it one of Southern Africa’s top birding destinations. The eastern side of the reserve overlooks False Bay, the widest section of Lake St Lucia, while the lookout deck at Lalapanzi Dam offers a peaceful spot for sunset views.
In addition to 10 self-catering glamping tents, the property includes a communal pool area where guests can relax and enjoy the surroundings. The reserve also caters to team-building events with versatile conference facilities and group activities. Each tent features an outdoor wood-fired hot tub, perfect for unwinding with an African sunset.
The custom-designed glamping tents are fully furnished for a comfortable self-catering stay. Each tent includes a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan living and dining area, 2 bedrooms, and an en suite bathroom. For year-round comfort, the tents are fitted with an indoor fireplace, electric blankets, a large rain shower, and a private outdoor wood-fired hot tub.
